Caberlin is prescribed to address specific hormonal issues, particularly excess prolactin. This medication aims to decrease or prevent breast milk production, except in postpartum situations. Additionally, Caberlin may be indicated for conditions like Parkinson's disease, tumors that produce prolactin, and to regulate hormone levels in various disorders, including ovarian diseases. It may also be utilized in treating erectile dysfunction.
Caberlin is taken orally two times a week. The dosage is typically modified every four weeks based on blood test results (specifically prolactin levels). Adhere to all provided instructions.
Before starting Caberlin, inform your doctor of your medical history, particularly any allergies (notably to medications), liver issues, mental health conditions, uncontrolled hypertension, or high blood pressure experienced during pregnancy. It is advisable to limit alcohol consumption as it may worsen the side effects of Caberlin. Exercise caution while engaging in activities that require attentiveness, like driving. To prevent dizziness and lightheadedness when getting up from a seated or lying position, rise slowly. Notify your doctor if you are pregnant prior to taking this medication. It remains unclear whether Caberlin is passed into breast milk. Due to potential risks to the infant, breastfeeding while on Dostinex is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
